In Veliko Trgovišće there is a beautiful BDM church of the Seven Sorrows, which was built between 1840 and 1876.
The parish church is located on an elevated position above the road in the middle of the Veliko Trgovišće settlement.
The old main wooden altar is a harmonious creation of the so-called historicism, characteristic of the second half of the nineteenth century.
There are traces of Baroque and Classicism in it's shape.
The central part of the altar is occupied by a large image of the Mother God's Sorrowful. Mary holds her dead son under the cross, and two angels are standing next to her.
The picture is the work of an unknown author, and it is not known nor the name of the builder of the altar.
There are statues in high niches on the side of the altar Saints Peter and Paul.
